Cause of diabetes in women:
The study of this book also talks about the effects of testosterone in causing Type 2 diabetes in women. More than 1973 women into their menopausal stage were examined as per the study and IFG as well as diabetes were found because of high levels of testosterone in the body. However, in the case of men it was the opposite effect – where poor testosterone levels were known to promote diabetes Type 2 variety. As per the study and findings of this book it was found that in menopausal women endogenous DHEA, E2 and T or testosterone were in abundance while SHBG was negatively associated along with resistance to insulin in women. The book reveals that inadequate levels of E2 or estradiol as well as androgens caused diabetes in women. Too much presence of testosterone inside a woman’s body could lead to a hampered functioning of glucose metabolism. While the freely occurring testosterone found inside a woman’s body causes insulin resistance in a woman too much of it can cause diabetes. However, in men the effect is the exact opposite where poor testosterone levels can cause diabetes of the type 2 variety.
Heart failure
The book also touches upon the aspect of how poor levels of testosterone in a man’s body can also cause heart failure. By scientifically explaining the side effects of low testosterone in the body, E. Gordon manages to drive home the fact that manual supplementation of testosterone becomes necessary to avoid heart failure and other debilitating conditions.
Testosterone therapy
Dr. Gordon also emphasizes in his book the importance of testosterone replacement as a therapy in men above 40 or 50 years. The book stresses the importance of manually raising free testosterone levels in order to boost sexual performance, libido and drive while also avoiding life threatening conditions like heart failure, diabetes and clinical depression. When practiced as part of a holistic therapy testosterone can improve the overall quality of a man’s life and lead to a better stamina, energy and drive.
